Volunteering and internship at KTU Sport and Wellness Center

Whether you are an amateur or a professional athlete, our Centre’s ACTIVATed programme offers a wide range of opportunities to get involved in sports and fitness activities at the University! Volunteering can range from a few hours of help on the day of an event to ongoing volunteering of a few hours per week.

Each year we organise around 40 events and various physical activities that require the help of volunteers, and during the student sports championship season, we invite volunteers to help out with the sports teams once or twice per week.

You can:

  • Contribute to the development of physical activities in the international student community by organising sports events, seminars and other activities.
  • Become a spokesperson for KTU sports teams, produce video reports, interviews, reviews of competitions and other interesting social media campaigns.
  • Complete an internship in sports studies: assisting in training sessions and competitions based on your experience in the sport (leading training sessions, filling in minutes, refereeing).
  • Contribute to the updating and administration of the Centre’s website sportas.ktu.edu.
  • Assist in the organisation, planning and coordination of sports events such as “Come and Overcome”, ACTIVATed Month, Rector’s Cup, etc.
  • Take photographs of sports events or competitions and contribute to the promotion of the ACTIVATed programme.
  • Become a leader of group training sessions or coordinator of recreational training.
  • Assist in the administration of the activities of the ACTIVATed Gym.

*Volunteering timetable is coordinated according to the volunteer’s availability and ongoing activities and events.

 

What are we looking for?

  • Students and sports enthusiasts who have some experience in sports events, group training and want to get more practice and learn the subtleties of training.
  • Active or interested in sport (practising sport / studying sports science or sport management).
  • Interested in the specifics and management of social networks.
  • Know the English language.

  • You can exercise in the Centre’s facilities for free. I KTU student volunteers have access to the services of the ACTIVATed Gym without advance registration.

According to the Law of the Republic of Lithuania on Volunteering, the following requirements are applied to volunteers:

  • Volunteers can be citizens of the Republic of Lithuania and foreigners legally present in the territory of the Republic of Lithuania who are older than 14.
  • Persons under the age of 18 can participate in volunteering activities if the child’s legal representative does not object.
  • No qualification is necessary for a volunteer, except for the nature of the volunteering activities which requires a special qualification according to other legislation or according to the requirements of the organisers of the volunteering activities.
  • Other requirements can be applied to the volunteer according to the nature of the volunteering activities set out in the legislation regulating individual areas.

Volunteering at an event "Ateik ir įveik 2024"

KTU Sports and Wellness Center is seeking volunteers for one of the most fun and exciting sport events  Ateik ir įveik, which will take place on 16 September 2024 at KTU Student Campus and Oak Tree Park!

Voluntary activities:
➜ Technical preparation for the event (obstacle collection, etc., cleaning and maintenance of the venue)
➜ Preparing/working during the event (registration of participants, placing posters/decorations, coordinating courses, providing information to participants and guests)
➜ Support work and general event supervision

! Time – 07:00 – 17:00
! Location – KTU Student Campus, Oak Tree Park

Volunteers will be awarded with “Ateik ir įveik” T-shirts and other KTU merchandise, free meals, and KTU students will receive volunteer badges.
