Leisure Sports

KTU ACTIVATed offers the leisure sports program that is suitable for all the community members, either it’s a student, academic or non-academic personnel. Everyone is welcome to visit our sports facilities and try various physical activities. This program offers to join different sports activity sessions or excercise on your own (playing a team sports with colleagues, joining group workouts, as well as working out at th gym or running in a stadium).

We invite you all to register and actively spend your free time. Choose the right time and a session for you and enjoy the positive well-being!

About

Football is a team sport ans it’s fun, challenging and exciting. Leisure football trainings feature simplified rules with variations – 8×8, 5×5 even 3×3. These activities are held in the artificial football turf.

Badminton –  the game that offers something for everyone! Moves don’t require a high level of physical fitness, but it’s a great way to keep fit and spend your free time! The leisure activity has it all – speed, power, endurance, agility, flexibility and hand-eye coordination, so it helps to develop motor skills and quick reaction.

About

Beach volleyball is the Olympic sport that’s played 2×2 players in each team on the sand court. The activity is similar to a typical volleyball game, only the number of players and the duration of the matches differ. Instead of a five-set match, beach volleyball has best-of-three match rule and is played to 21 points, as opposed to the regular 25.

About

Cricket is a bat-and-ball game involving two teams of 11 members. Usually each team has 5-6 delivering players and 5-6 batting players. Goal of the game is to score more points than your opponents. This game is more popular amongst international students that are coming to study at the University.

Rock Climbing – a dynamic activity that develops the entire body, as well as your mind, reaction and balance. If you want to enjoy this activity, you do not need prior knowledge or equipment; experienced instructors will introduce this sport to you and will give a suitable task for everyone, depending on the person’s physical condition and abilities.

About

Tennis is both an individual and a team sport, which is also one of the oldest sports and can be played at any age. University has an indoor tennis court (Hangar Sports Hall), which allows to play the game all year long. The tennis activity is held individually, so any student or employee of KTU are welcome to book the time and come play the game together with colleagues or study friends. The tennis equipment (racquet and balls) will be provided upon the arrival.

Fitness Gym

Sports and Wellness Centre invites all KTU students and employees to exercise at our new and modern fitness gym. The gym features 3 different areas for free weights, boxing and TRX training (total-body resistance exercise), as well as cardio and strength equipment. Moreover, we offer 8 group exercise classes, such as Callanetics, Tabata, TRX Workout, Pilates, Stability Ball Workouts, Step Aerobics Workout, Body Pump and Muay Thai.

Information for KTU Fitness Gym visitors

All KTU gym visitors (including group workouts) must provide a valid Opportunity Passport/ National Certificate or other document prepared by a healthcare institution (in Lithuanian or English), i.e. proof that a person either has negative COVID-19 test result, been vaccinated, or has recovered from COVID-19, and comply with the following requirements:

  • All those who come to the gym must wear protective equipment (face masks, respirators or other means) covering the nose and mouth, except during sports.
  • Those experiencing respiratory and other illness symptoms, such as fever (37,3 °C and higher), cough, runny nose, sneezing, difficulty breathing, etc. must remain at home.
  • The temperature will be measured for all those who visit the sports club.
  • Arrival at the gym only at the registered time only. The gym can be used for a maximum of 1 hour 30 min. period.
  • No more than 30 people are allowed to be in the gym at the same time. Social distancing (2 meters) should be practiced at all times.
  • It is recommended to place your towel on the gym equipment. All the equipment must be disinfected by attendees after the use.
  • If you see that the exercise equipment you want to use is taken, wait at a safe distance of at least 2 meters until it is free.
  • Don’t forget to wash or disinfect your hands frequently before and after every round with appropriate products.
  • If it turns out that you have been infected with COVID-19 and have visited the sports club within 14 days, inform the sports club administration immediately
