Last weekend, KTU basketball team played two regular season games in the Regional Basketball League („TOPsport – RKL“) competition. Men’s basketball team of our University suffered a loss and won a very important victory in A division games.
Friday night on November 20, Kaunas University of Technology team’s victory in the match between the local rivals. KTU basketball team proved their advantage and won against Vytautas Magnus University team at the score 77:74. Despite playing home game, KTU players were facing difficulties in the first half. After the halftime KTU basketball team led by coach Artūras Sukovas managed to recover their game. The team came back strong in the third quarter winning it by 14 points. The game leader of KTU team was Laurynas Bimba with the efficiency score of 27 (12 PTS, 17 REB, 1 AS).
Last Saturday (November 21) KTU basketball team played difficult match against Kėdainiai SC – “Ateitis” team. Despite the good start and even game, the team of our University had to admit the loss 78:76. This time the third quarter for KTU team was not as successful as in previous game and resulted in the defeat. KTU player L. Bimba, who led the team to the victory on Friday, was the top scorer for this game too (23 PTS, 7 REB, 29 EFF).

Current standings of KTU basketball team are 2 wins and 3 losses, ranking them 8th in A division. The next games of RKL Championship are scheduled for November 27-28.
