Orienteering:
From May 3-5, orienteering competitions “Daugiadienės Vilnius 2024” took place in Vilnius and Trakai district. 590 participants gathered for the event, including KTU students Jonas Markevičius (EEF), Šarūnė Riaukaitė (MIDF), and Saulė Vilniūtė (MGMF).
- Jonas Markevičius finished 5th in the elite group.
- Šarūnė Riaukaitė finished 6th in her group.
- Saulė Vilniūtė was 6th on the second day of the competition.
On May 11, in Mikniškės, Trakai district, the Lithuanian Orienteering Championship in the middle distance took place, with 540 orienteers participating.
- Jonas Markevičius (EEF) finished 5th in the strongest, elite group.
Athletics:
On May 31, the Vingis Park Stadium hosted the summer cup competitions of the sports club “Cosma”. In the high jump event, Ignas Bitinas (MIDF) won by jumping 2.10 m (matching his personal record).
On May 25-26, the Lithuanian LAF Cup open competitions and sports club team competitions took place in Kaunas. KTU students’ results:
- 2nd place: Ignas Bitinas (MIDF) in high jump.
- 2nd place: Gustas Griška (MIDF) in triple jump.
- 2nd place: Gustas Pritulskis (EEF) in hammer throw.
- 2nd place: Emilija Mockutė (CTF) in javelin throw and 5th place in shot put.
- 3rd place: Aurimas Narijauskas (IF) in triple jump.
- 4th place: Nedas Kasparas (EEF) in the 5000 m run.
- 5th place: Mykolas Juknius (CTF) in the 400 m run and 6th place in the 200 m run.
- 5th place: Andrius Šimkus (IF) in pole vault.
- 6th place: Rokas Berūkštis (MIDF graduate) in the 100 m run and 10th place in the 200 m run.
- 7th place: Viktorija Ivickytė (CTF graduate) in the 400 m run and 17th place in the 200 m run.
- 7th place: Neringa Kriščiūnaitė (IF) in shot put.
- 8th place: Greta Zalatoriūtė (EVF) in the 100 m run.
On May 10, the SM Starto Cup competitions took place at the Darius and Girėnas Stadium:
- Ignas Bitinas (MIDF) won the high jump event by jumping 2.05 m.
- Greta Zalatoriūtė (EVF) won the 100 m run with a time of 12.28 seconds.
- Deimantė Raudytė (IF) finished third in the long jump with a distance of 5.20 m.
- Mykolas Juknius (CTF) finished fourth in the 400 m run with a time of 53.81 seconds.
On May 4-5, the Lithuanian long throws championship took place in Palanga:
- Gustas Pritulskis (EEF) won silver in hammer throw (54.94 m).
- Jurgis Džiaugys (MIDF) finished 4th in javelin throw (58.64 m).
Badminton:
On May 11, at the season closing tournament in Panevėžys:
- Dovilė Kuzmickaitė (EAE) won 2nd place in women’s doubles and 1st place in mixed doubles.
- Vakarė Bagdonaitė (VBV) finished 2nd in women’s doubles and 3rd in mixed doubles.
- Mantas Vaitkus (VBV) won 1st place in men’s doubles and finished 11th in men’s singles.
- Dominykas Jankauskas (graduate) won 1st place in men’s doubles.
- Kasparas Vilkevičius finished 3rd in men’s doubles and 1st in mixed doubles.
On May 25, at the second stage of the Lithuanian Badminton Cup in Panevėžys and Kretinga:
- Dovilė Kuzmickaitė (EAE) finished 10th in women’s doubles and 6th in mixed doubles.
- Kasparas Vilkevičius (MD) finished 8th in men’s singles and 8th in men’s doubles.
- Vakarė Bagdonaitė (VBV) finished 2nd in women’s doubles and 7th in mixed doubles.
- Mantas Vaitkus (VBV) finished 2nd in men’s singles and 15th in mixed doubles.
- Rokas Jadvinskis (SAF) finished 6th in mixed doubles and 14th in men’s doubles.
Volleyball:
On May 21, the final matches of the KMTL Dailioji League season took place at the sports hall of the Faculty of Civil Engineering and Architecture of Kaunas University of Technology. The KTU team, coached by Audronė Jakupkienė, won 3rd place, defeating the team of Lithuanian Sports University (LSU) 3:0 (25:19, 25:14, 25:14).
Tennis:
On May 25-26, at the “Teniso erdvė” courts, the Lithuanian Student Tennis Championship took place. Laurynas Adomavičius won 2nd place in men’s doubles.
SELL Games:
